Live Load Test For Strengthened Slab At Mehandipur Balaji
Mehandipur Balaji temple", which got completed few days back. A mezzanine floor was constructed in main hall of temple which was initially supported at both ends but later it was converted into cantilever by removing columns at one side. Now interesting part was that changing the behavior of slab to cantilever mode from simply supported. First, strengthening was done using mild steel members. Strengthening was done with all the manual and soft computing calculations with precautionary measures. Track was all ready to handle the loading, but still a verification was to be carried out as it is a matter of public interest with high devotion to balaji. A load test was carried out with the live load through cement bags. Deflections were measured through dial gauge. Finally, results were as per our expectations, we did not observe any distress sign or cracking. A certification was issued to open the fast track for all the devotees with limited nos.
